Ways You Can Help Fight HB56

1) Educate your friends, family, coworkers, classmates, congregation, and community about the law and the contributions immigrants make to your community. Engage in positive dialogue about immigration. Share stories about immigrants you know. Show a film and host a discussion. Join Welcoming America's Friends of Welcoming Campaign to find more ways you can start creating a more welcoming Alabama.

2) Volunteer to support HICA and the Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice. Are you an interpreter or translator?  Are you a lawyer who focuses on immigration or criminal law? Are you a college student who can volunteer regularly at our office? If so, we need your help! Contact HICA's Volunteer Coordinator Taylor Baronich at tbaronich@hispanicinterest.org.

3) Advocate. Be a part of the Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice and attend upcoming events, participate in protests and vigils, and sign petitions. Go to http://www.acij.net/.

4) Donate. There are tremendous needs at this time to support Alabama's immigrant community everything from writing powers of attorneys to protect our constituents' children to conducting Know Your Rights Workshops.

1) Informar tus amigos, familia, companeros del trabajo y escuela, iglesia, y comunidad sobre la ley y las contribuciones de los inmigrantes en nuestra comunidad. Tiene dialogo positivo sobre la inmigracion. Cuenta historias de los inmigrantes quien conoces. Muestra una pelicula con una discusion. Unirse en la campana de Welcoming America para crear un Alabama inclusivo.

2) Sea voluntario para apoyar HICA y la Coalicion de Justicia para Inmigrantes. Eres un interprete?  Eres un abogado de inmigracion o casos criminales? Te gusta planear y organizar eventos?
