Join ¡HICA! on Thursday, January 31st at 12:00 pm at the Harbert Center to celebrate the integrators, connectors, & educators in our community!

The Alma Latina Awards Luncheon will bring together corporate and civic leaders of Alabama to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations furthering the social, civic and economic integration of Hispanic families in Alabama. Proceeds from the event will support the essential work of ¡HICA! as an integrator, connector, and educator in our communities. This year’s theme is Sweet Home Alabama Para Todos (‘For All’) recognizing the importance of creating vibrant, safe and cohesive communities for all of Alabama’s residents.

The luncheon will feature Monica Lozano as its keynote speaker. Ms. Lozano is the Chief Executive Officer of La Opinión, the largest Spanish publication in the United States, and the Chief Executive Officer of its parent company impremedia, LLC, the leading Hispanic News and Information Company. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company and Bank of America Corporation as well as several non-profit organizations. In February, 2009, she was appointed as a member to the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board.
